Legacy: Talent has no passport.

We've turned ambitious ideas into reliable products. Built by people we spend years finding, training, and keeping. Five countries. One team.

Gray Mines has a simple belief: providing solutions to every industry. Our engineers, designers, and product leads work together across the UK, USA, Pakistan, China, and Australia.

Brilliant people. Locked doors.

Something kept bothering us.

The talent was everywhere. The opportunity wasn't.

  • A gifted engineer couldn't reach the company that needed her because a border sat in between.
  • A shop owner with a great product couldn't sell past his own street because the payments, the logistics, and the software were all built for someone else.
  • A founder with a real idea couldn't get it built because the good solutions cost more than the idea was worth.

Nothing was wrong with the people. Nothing was wrong with the ideas.

What was missing was a bridge.

And the same four walls kept appearing.

  • Finance

Great tech, priced out of reach.

  • Access

The best teams lived in a few zip codes.

  • Borders

    Skill crossed oceans. Opportunity didn't.

  • Technology

Too generic to fit. Too complex to use.

We could have complained about it. We decided to build.

So we stopped waiting and started building.

We started with one belief:Talent Has No Borders.

A team of engineers and designers from different backgrounds, smiling together

So we went looking for them. Not only in the obvious cities, but also in the places the industry walked past. We found them, we trained them properly, we treated them well, and we gave them reasons to stay.

It worked. The engineers who joined us early in their careers now lead teams. Their software got better. Our clients stayed. The walls started to come down.

One idea grew into five countries.

The UK, the USA, Pakistan, China and Australia. An engineer in one office and a designer in another solve the same problem together, every day.

  • United Kingdom

    London

  • United States

    New York

  • Pakistan

    Karachi

  • China

    Shenzhen

  • Australia

    Sydney

A client in London wakes up to progress made in Karachi, and it feels like one team in one room.

That's not a workaround for distance. It's the whole point.

The walls, industry by industry.

Fintech

“Not available in your country.”

Those five words have killed more small businesses than any competitor. The baker with four thousand loyal customers who can't get a payment gateway. The exporter whose bank wants a credit history the system never let her build. The founder whose money is stuck in a corridor between two countries that don't talk to each other.

None of them has bad business. They have a bad map.

We redraw it. Payments, wallets, lending, and cross-border rails, built compliant from the first line and designed for the markets the big platforms call “unsupported.” Because money should travel as easily as the idea behind it.

E-commerce

Great product. Wrong postcode.

The checkout rejects local cards. Shipping rates don't exist for your route. The marketplace takes a cut so big you'd earn more selling to your cousins. Somewhere a brilliant maker is trapped in a neighborhood, and the only thing between them and the world is software that was never built for them.

We build storefronts, marketplaces, and delivery systems that handle borders, currencies, and patchy networks like it's nothing. So a shop on a side street can sell to a stranger on another continent and get paid on the same day.

Socio-economic development and edtech

Talent is everywhere. Classrooms aren't.

A girl with a gift for mathematics and no teacher who can see it. A worker one skill away from a better life, with no way to learn it. A village with a clinic, a school and no connection to either.

Potential is spread evenly across the planet. Opportunity is not.

We build learning platforms, skills and training systems, and development tools that carry education and work to the places that were left off the map. Because where you were born shouldn't be the biggest decision of your life.

Custom software

Your business isn't average. Why is your software?

Off-the-shelf software is built for a customer who doesn't exist: the average one. So you spend years bending your process to fit a tool, paying for features you'll never touch and begging for the one you need.

We flip it. We start with your problem, your users, and your constraints, and build the product around them. It fits because it was made to.

Next-gen enterprise

Your future shouldn't run on duct tape.

Every enterprise has one: the system nobody dares to touch, the spreadsheet holding up the quarter, and the integration only one person understands. It works until the day it doesn't.

We build the foundations that organizations grow on. Systems that are clean on day one, still standing in year ten, and built by a team that plans to answer the phone when you call.

50+
engineers, designers, and product leads
120+

But those aren't the numbers we're proudest of.

  • We're proudest of the engineer who joined us at the start of her career and now builds the systems other people rely on.
  • Of the small business that went global.
  • Of the product that quietly changed how thousands of people get paid, get served, or get work.

We open the doors ourselves.

Locked doors started all of this. So we hold our own open: forums, workshops and open evenings in our studios, where partners, peers and the people who may join us one day can walk straight in.

So we keep digging. And we keep looking for the people who'll dig with us.

And we're not done. The walls are lower than they were in 2000, but they haven't disappeared. There are still brilliant people on the wrong side of a border, a bank or a broken piece of software.

If you believe, as we do, that talent has no passport:
